The Quadripartite partners consisting of Food and Agriculture Organisation (United Nations FAO), the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), the World Health Organisation (WHO), and the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH), in partnership with African Union agencies, Africa CDC and African Union Inter-African Bureau for Animal Resources (AU IBAR) together with the Government of Zimbabwe, are hosting this year’s continental celebrations.
The conference aims to bring together experts, policymakers, researchers and stakeholders from across the African continent to address the critical issue of AMR and its impact on public health.
The week will provide a platform for participants to share knowledge, exchange best practices and discuss innovative strategies to tackle AMR in the region.
The conference will feature keynote speeches, panel discussions, interactive workshops and poster presentations, covering a wide range of topics related to AMR, including but not limited to: Promoting responsible use of antibiotics in healthcare and agriculture, Enhancing infection prevention and control measures and Fostering collaboration between key sectors, policymakers, and researchers.
The conference which will run until Friday the 24th, will also highlight successful initiatives and projects from different African countries, showcasing their efforts in combating AMR and inspiring others to take action.
