Ziwende wins Youth Tourism Innovation Challenge

YOUTHS participated in the Youth Tourism Innovation Challenge which was won by Tafadzwa Ziwende who expressed confidence that they will indeed contribute towards sustainable tourism in the country.
The innovation challenge which is open to youths aged 30 years and below saw youths from Mashonaland East come up with various concepts on how to improve the country’s tourism.
Tafadzwa Ziwende of Goromonzi, who won the challenge, is very optimistic that his paper will contribute towards the growth of the country’s tourism industry.
“I am happy to have won this competition and hope to contribute towards our tourism industry,” said Ziwende.
Other youths are also confident of making their contribution to the sector.
1st runner-up, Kuda Chipangura said, “We thank ZTA for affording us this opportunity to showcase our potential,” while second runner-up, Mako Pashapa noted, “After entering this competition we are hoping to contribute in our way to the sector.”
The Zimbabwe Tourism Authority says it is impressed by the innovations from the youths.
“The youths have shown that they have a lot of potential in the tourism sector,” said Mrs Kudzai Majuru from the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority.
The winners walked away with seed money as well as access to technical support to start their projects.
