ZIMBABWE’S global service delivery standards roadmap has received thumbs up from the private sector in line with National Development Strategy One (NDS1) aspiration of increasing production and exports.
It emerged at a private sector customer care review session that one of the NDS1 aspirations is to improve service delivery for the benefit of the nation.
Customer Experience Association of Zimbabwe member, Dr Rinos Mautsa spoke with persuasion on the importance of improved service delivery.
“A lot is happening within the economy to the extent that good service delivery becomes the hallmark of ensuring growth and survival of industry and commerce, taking into account the vast resources available. It is how to exploit them in a manner that benefits the consumer in a good way or mannerism,” he said.
With the services sector having attracted more project approvals in the first quarter, the managing director of a local firm, Mrs Tinotenda Mushapaidze believes it is high time a good customer service delivery agenda is rolled out countrywide.
“A good customer enjoys the benefit of good service delivery, however that should be made in a manner that comes from good and quality commodities including services so local firms must rise up to the occasion,” said Mushapaidze.
Banker Dr Lance Mambondiyani says compliance to global service delivery systems will also help attract Foreign Direct Investment.
“One element that is a key aim of any investor is over whether the economy is offering the best on terms of service provision be it from the local authorities or the Government. So, indeed, there is more that needs to be done to unlock the value of the investors through good service delivery systems.”
The NDS1 has considered service delivery a key component of achieving targeted yearly growth rates above five percent.
