Zim scoops three global tourism awards

Once again Zimbabwe has proved to the world travel and tourism landscape that it is a force to reckon with as a destination of choice after scooping three gongs at the Pacific Travel Writers Awards in Berlin Germany.

The Awards were held on the sidelines of the ongoing International Tourism Bourse fair, which is one of the biggest Tourism Trade fairs in the world.

The recognition comes as the tourism sector is getting back on its feet after the devastating effects of the COVID-19 pandemic that saw a halt in world travel for nearly 2 years.

Zimbabwe won the destination of the year, Natural Beauty in Africa while the Minister of Environment, Tourism and Hospitality Industry Hon Mangaliso Ndhlovu received the best African Minister of the Year and Zimbabwe Tourism Authority CEO Ms Winnie Muchanyuka scooped the Professional destination management award.

Minister Ndhlovu who is leading the Zimbabwe delegation at the Expo applauded the teamwork exhibited in ensuring brand Zimbabwe continues to woo the international market.

The International Tourism Bourse is a prime travel and tourism expo that attracts the world’s leading investors, stakeholders tour and tour operators.
