Popular church leader Tapiwa Freddy has withdrawn extortion charges against Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation’s Radio Zimbabwe presenter Rutendo Makuti and three others, after Freddy filed an affidavit.
Makuti, together with ZBC engineer Maushe Mutetepi, Gibson Jaji and Witness Bungu were found not guilty by Harare magistrate Yeukai Dzuda following the withdrawal of the charges by the State after plea.
Following the acquittal, the motor vehicle Mercedes Benz E350 forming the basis of allegations against Makuti was released into her custody.
In his affidavit, Freddy also undertook not to interfere with the peace of the four and not to speak ill or in any way soil their names or reputations regarding the matter on social media.
