ZANU PF affiliates urged to bolster the revolutionary party

Story by Tafara Chikumira

The ruling ZANU PF party has called on the party’s affiliates to recruit new members outside the formation as a means to strengthen the party ahead of harmonised elections slated for this year.

The ZANU national commissariat team was in Gweru this Saturday to meet the revolutionary party’s affiliates with a view to synchronise their activities in line with the dictates of the party.

The revolutionary party urged the party affiliates to be active in recruiting new members with a view for the party to reach its target of five million plus votes in this year’s harmonized elections.

“I am very happy that you have come in your numbers to attend this important occasion. Yes it’s interesting that you guys are volunteers who have embraced the idea of working with the party in your development agenda. However, I urge you to register your affiliations with the party. I want to urge you to register more people outside the party through your various affiliations. Our goal is to bring more people who will support our President in this year’s elections and going forward. Your role is very critical and if we work together, victory is certain,” said the ZANU PF National Commissar, Dr Mike Bimha.

The Midlands provincial leadership and ZANU PF party affiliates pledged to work together for the development of the revolutionary party.

ZANU PF Midlands provincial chairman, Senator Larry Mavima noted, “We are very honoured to be graced by our leaders. As a province, we are ready to make a difference in strengthening the party. We are very happy that we are pulling in the same direction with one vision of ensuring victory for our President, Cde Emmerson Mnangagwa.”

Farmers for ED chairperson, Honourable Perseverance Zhou said, “I want to assure the party and my President that we are geared to recruit more farmers in our organisation. As you are aware, we constitute the country’s biggest workforce and as such we are ready to play our party.”

African Economic Empowerment Fund For ED chairperson, Cde Darlington Chiwara noted, “We are ready to create wealth for our young people. We are simply saying young people should join us so that we come up with start-up businesses for future generations. As such, our catch will be useful in boosting the numbers for the revolutionary party and our President as well.”

“From day one, we have been in the trenches trying to canvas support for our beloved President. We are saying lets share his vision and we are glad that a directive has been given. We are ready to deliver on the task given” said Young Women for ED provincial secretary-general, Miss Vivian Maponga.

A record 45 affiliates attended the meeting where they were reminded to register their organisations with the party’s commissariat department for recognition of their works.
