VICE President Cde Kembo Mohadi has commended local exhibitors at the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) for being innovative and producing high-quality products that meet international standards.

Commenting after a tour of stands at the ZITF in Bulawayo this Wednesday, Vice President Kembo Mohadi said local companies have come of age and are showcasing export quality products, a development that speaks volumes of the resolve by local entrepreneurs to compete globally.

“There are three categories of exhibits at ZITF this year, and these are local, regional and international exhibitors, and coming to the local companies, the products show an uptake of technology and innovation which has seen a rise in the quality of our products which can compete well in the export market, and this is commendable.”

On the presence of regional and international companies at ZITF, Cde Mohadi said it demonstrates growing regional and international trade, as well as the confidence that the world now has on Zimbabwe as a safe investment destination.

“The fact that we have several African countries at our fair speaks of relations we have in the region and Africa as a continent, and the coming in of economic giants like China, America, Russia and other players confirms that Zimbabwe is Part of the global village in trade, but I want to encourage our business people to focus more on technology transfer so that we grow our product range and also become a part of the global product value chain.”

The Vice President toured several stands including governments of Kenya, Namibia, Belarus, the United States and Botswana.

He was also at the ZANU PF stand, Men BelieveED, Hotplate and Grill House, government departments, SMEs and technology sectors.
