Geo Pomona has converted part of the Waste to Energy Management Site into a recreational facility that has already taken shape.
Legendary basketball player, Michael Jordan once said, ‘one man’s dream can change the world,’ and true to those words the vision of Geo Pomona Waste Management has changed the face of this dump site.
Once known for its stench, is now a marvel for those who pass by, with the recreational facilities there for all to see.
The company is constructing a state-of-the-art recreational facility that includes an artificial turf football pitch, two basketball courts, and tennis courts.
The second phase of the works will see changing rooms, terraces and a restaurant constructed.
“We are building this for the community around here as well as the youths and we hope the national team and clubs going out can be able to use this facility for their training sessions, we know there are countries with artificial turf so when they come here, they will have the best of preparations before they leave for their assignment,” said Delish Nguwaya, CEO Geo Pomona Waste Management Pvt Ltd.
The Warriors played on an artificial surface when they played against Nigeria and Rwanda at the Huye stadium in Rwanda in their 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.
FIFA engineers are expected in the country on the 21st of this month for assessment and certification of the training facility.
