President Emmerson Mnangagwa says products on exhibition at this year’s Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) are impressive, indicating that Zimbabwean businesspeople are fast catching up with global trends.

With the ZITF in full swing, President Emmerson Mnangagwa took time to walk through various exhibitions at the international trade showcase this Friday.

His tour was punctuated by interactions with the general public along with tours of stands of international exhibitors from Indonesia, the Republic of Korea, the United Republic of Tanzania, the United Kingdom pavilion and the European Union.

The President also took some time in the livestock section where several animals are on display including Brahman beef master and Nkone before winding up his tour at the Office of President and Cabinet stand.

In a media briefing after the tour, President Mnangagwa said the bulk of products at this year’s ZITF are locally produced and are of high quality, indicating that Zimbabweans have embraced his mantra, ‘Nyika Inovakwa Nevene Vayo, Ilizwe Lakhiwa Ngabanikazi Balo’.

“I have seen an improvement in the quality and volume of exhibits at this year’s ZITF and this shows that our people have embraced our mantra that says ‘ilizwe lakhiwa ngabanikazi balo’. This confirms the growth of our economy as our people look inward to grow the national cake, so I’m so happy about this.”

This year’s ZITF is being held under the theme: “Innovation: The Catalyst to Industrialisation and Trade”.
