Platinum Royals target former champions

Story by Courage Bushe

ZIMBABWE Women Super League action continues this weekend with a potential thriller pitting former champions Black Rhinos and league debutants Platinum Royals taking centre stage at One Commando Grounds this Saturday.

An emphatic 3-1 win over Faith Drive last weekend has given Platinum Royals a sense of belief ahead of a tough encounter against former Champions Black Rhinos.

Platinum Royals who are under the wings of former Mighty Warriors head coach Sithethelelwe ‘Kwinji 15’ Sibanda, are raring to go and hoping to cause an upset.

“We have the full squad at our disposal and we are raring to go and do our best. We are going to upset them on their own turf,” said Sibanda.

“We have been doing well and I am confident that we will leave an indelible mark there. I always tell my girls that anything is possible in the game of football and you don’t have to fear anyone, but just play with freedom,” noted Sibanda.

Winger Sharmaine Kapachi is equally confident saying morale is high.

“Everyone is ready and the morale is good the girls are confident. Playing against an experienced side like Chipembere Queens is motivating. We are hopeful and confident that after the game will be smiling,” said Kapachi.

Platinum Royals are 6th on the log standings with 13 points from 7 outings while their opponents are third with 16 points.
