VISITING Palestine Foreign Affairs Minister, Dr Riad Malki has pledged his country’s readiness to work with Zimbabwe in expanding bilateral relations between the two countries.

The Palestine Foreign Affairs Minister paid a courtesy call on President Emmerson Mnangagwa at State House in Harare this Tuesday to affirm his country’s position regarding bilateral relations between the two countries.

Dr Malki said Palestine is working closely with Zimbabwe to deepen bilateral relations in the economic and political sectors.

Dr Malki said, ‘‘We are ready to work closely with our counterparts in widening and deepening bilateral relations with Zimbabwe. The meeting was a very great success.’’

He also indicated the need for the two countries to support each other at the international level.

Dr Malki added, ‘‘We discussed what we can do together to support each other at an international stage, how we can support each other politically and economically. That’s why we are here to first of all show our solidarity and our position regarding the imposition of illegal sanctions on Zimbabwe. We support Zimbabwe to regain its full control over its economy, natural resources, and everything. In Palestine, we want to offer expertise in different areas such as agriculture and medicine. We will meet with different ministers and discuss various areas that we can collaborate.’’

Zimbabwe and Palestine enjoy cordial relations tied in historic solidarity having been unfairly targeted by the west in its regime change agenda.
