Murder suspect Jaison Muvevi, who allegedly shot and killed three people in Wedza last Friday, has been extradited to Zimbabwe after he was arrested in Mozambique this Monday.

ZRP spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi told ZBC News that the murder suspect who killed three people in Wedza last Friday was handed over to Zimbabwean authorities this Tuesday.

“The Zimbabwe Republic Police confirms the extradition of the Wedza killer Jaison Muvevi who is now in police custody in Mutare. Paper work is now being worked on for his transportation to Harare where his charge sheet is going to be filed as he awaits his appearance before the courts,” he said.

Muvevi, who was on the run since Friday last week, fled into Mozambique where he was arrested this Monday after an altercation with a commuter omnibus crew.

The fugitive’s arrest came after he was earlier spotted at Mutare Boys High School where he is alleged to have fired some shots following a misunderstanding with unsuspecting residents at the school where he had gone to look for food.

Muvevi
is understood to have been a gold dealer and he allegedly shot and killed three people in Wedza on Friday including ZRP Officer-in-Charge of Wedza police station Inspector Maxwell Hove, apostolic sect leader Crispen Kanerusine and bar tender Munashe Mujanhi.
