The national women’s cricket team the Lady Chevrons have regrouped ahead of a bilateral series against Thailand which gets underway on the 19th of this month in Bangkok.
The Lady Chevrons have been out of action for seven months after competing in the T20 World Cup Qualifiers in Abu Dhabi where they failed to make it to the global showpiece.
However, the team has regrouped ahead of the tour where they are set to engage the hosts in three T20s and three One Day International matches.
The players are coming off a six-week domestic schedule which head coach, Gary Brent believes has given them selection headaches.
“The girls really played well, especially the national team players. They had some big scores not only them but there is also a number who have put up their hand for selection and it’s good for the team to be in that situation,” said Brent.
He added, “We are looking forward to a good series against Thailand in their home conditions last time we beat them it was on a neutral venue now it’s gonna be different.”
All the players who were called for national duty are in camp, save for captain, Mary-Anne Musonda who is in Dubai taking part in the Fairbreak Invitational series.
The team is breaking camp for the Easter holidays before regrouping next week on Tuesday ahead of departure on the 15th.
