Kenyan President, Dr William Ruto has applauded the introduction of the Zimbabwe Gold (ZiG) currency, saying it is a bold move to reset the country’s economy.
He was speaking at the official opening of the 64th edition of the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair in Bulawayo this Saturday.
Meanwhile, Dr Ruto has returned home, after a two day state visit to Zimbabwe.
Dr Ruto who officially opened the ZITF showcase was seen off at the Joshua Mqabuko Nkomo international Airport by his counterpart , President Emmerson Mnangagwa.
Speaking before taking off, President Ruto said he was impressed with the nature of the ZITF exhibition , noting how it has over the years moved from being just a Zimbabwean affair and become a global affair which has attracted many countries.
He said Zimbabwe should expect more cooperation from Kenyan business entities as there is vast potential to be explored on the business front .
President Mnangagwa thanked Dr Ruto for accepting the invite to officially open ZITF.
