The independence music gala will be a major drawcard as fans have revealed that they are eagerly awaiting to witness performances of renowned artistes on Tuesday in Mount Darwin.

Excitement is in the air ahead of Independence Day celebrations with people gathering daily at Mount Darwin High School to witness the rehearsals for the big event.

The Independence Day music gala has promised to be a major attraction for music fans who expect to see famous artistes for the first time in Mount Darwin.

“I expect to see musicians like Leonard Zhakata performing live. I hope this will be a blessed day and proceed peacefully,” a fan said.

“The independence celebrations have come as a blessing. I hope to see many famous artistes,” another told the ZBC News.

Said another, “I hope to see artistes like Holy 10, Jah Signal while others will be rooting for Mark Ngwazi. The main thing is I’m not going to miss the event for anything.”

Meanwhile, contractors are putting the final touches on the facilities at the main arena.

Government is satisfied with the pace at which contractors are working.

“I came just to see the preparations at our main venue. All is set for independence, I can say to the nation your home is complete, all that we are doing is putting the final touches. I encourage all people to come in their numbers,” noted Mashonaland Central Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Senator Monica Mavhunga.

The stadium pitch is now complete while members of the Zimbabwe Republic Police and school children are putting the final touches to their mass displays.
