Independence Gala lives up to the billing

THE independence gala lived up to its billing after musicians put up top-notch performances at Pfura stadium in Mt Darwin last night.

A star-studded lineup, flawless performances and enthusiastic fans put the icing on the cake at Zimbabwe’s historic independence celebrations in Mount Darwin.

Gospel musician, Matthias Mhere delivered an electrifying performance that left fans on their toes.

Not to be outdone was Selmor Mutukudzi who put up a sterling show, combining her songs and renditions of her late father’s songs.

Meanwhile, Chief Hwenje’s music attracted some of the VIPs to the stage as they showcased their dancing skills.

Music fans were excited at being part of the show that brought together so many big artists for the first time in Mt Darwin.

Sandra Ndebele and her crew who travelled from Bulawayo were not to be left out of the festivities as they thrilled the crowd with energetic dances and some hit songs that took fans down memory lane.

The partygoers filled up Pfura stadium to capacity, indicating the success of the music event which capped off historic independence celebrations.
