THE Zimbabwe Under 18 men’s handball team made a triumphant start to their International Handball Federation (IHF) trophy zone six Africa Youth Championships campaign, thrashing Lesotho 37-15 in their opening match played at the Sunrise Sports Club in Harare this Monday.

The team came out strong in the first half, setting the tone for their convincing win.

With swift passes and clever movements, Zimbabwe quickly took control of the game.

By halftime, Zimbabwe had built a comfortable lead of 13-7, thanks to some clinical finishing from their attackers and solid defensive work.

The hosts eventually cruised to a convincing victory to put on track their quest to qualify for the World Youth Championships.

Zimbabwe is hosting Lesotho, Malawi, South Africa, Namibia, Zambia, Mozambique and Eswatini.
