THE Bhale community in Hwange is set to benefit from the government’s US$10 million fund for the construction of schools around the country.

Consultations held in the Bhale area of Hwange by the Parliamentary Portfolio Committee on Primary and Secondary Education this Monday allowed local villagers to express their views on their expectations in the education sector with the majority calling for more schools in the area.

“Here we have children walking long distances so we need more schools,” noted one of the concerned villagers who spoke to ZBC news.

Another villager added, “The nearest school is 14km so this makes our children’s lives very difficult.”

“We need assistance in building a school here, the distances are too much for our children,” stated another.

Their dream is set to become true with Parliament confirming that Bhale is one of the areas that will benefit from the US$10 million fund unveiled by the government to build more schools across the country.

“We have seen for ourselves here. We want a primary and secondary school to be built. We also want to address challenges that school children face in this area,” said Parly Portfolio Committee on Primary and Secondary Education Chairperson, Honourable Torerayi Moyo.

The development is an affirmation of the second republic’s inclusive development where no one and no place will be left behind.
