GERMAN travel agents who were in Zimbabwe for a week-long familiarisation tour are leaving with a sense of satisfaction after experiencing the best of the country’s tourism industry.
What is left for the forty German travel agents, who were in Zimbabwe for a week-long familiarisation tour, is to market the country and the Kavango-Zambezi Trans-frontier Conservation Area (KAZA).
In an interview with ZBC News in Victoria Falls before their departure, the agents said they were impressed by tourist attractions in Zimbabwe.
“Zimbabwe is amazing, the people, the culture, we have been impressed with what we saw here.
“We visited Hwange National Park and Matopos, it was all a fantastic experience. We will certainly bring the clients to Zimbabwe to have the same experience.”
“We receive numerous enquiries about Victoria Falls and we are glad that we now have something to tell our clients,” noted the travel agents.
The Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA) says it is just the beginning of a long-lasting relationship with source markets.
“When we get to Germany, we will follow up on these travel agents to ensure that there is progress. We will also continue to provide them with any other information they may want to market the destination be it maps or other such material,” noted Zimbabwe’s Tourism Officer in German, Mrs Colleta Beichtmann.
The Second Republic is on a spirited drive to engage and re-engage the international community, and the visit by the forty travel agents from Germany confirms the success of the initiative.
