ZIMBABWE is pushing for the establishment of a joint cooperation framework with Egypt, with more focus on cooperation in trade and media.

The Egyptian Ambassador to Zimbabwe, Her Excellency Salwa Mouafi paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services, Senator Monica Mutsvangwa at her Munhumutapa offices in Harare this Friday.
Their discussions centred on broadening the two countries political relations to other fields including trade and media.
“We have discussed several issues including increasing bilateral cooperation between the two countries and strengthening relations that exist currently in various fields including production, and media,” said Mouafi.
Senator Mutsvangwa reiterated efforts by two countries to further enhance cooperation.
“For trade to increase and tourism to increase between the two countries people have to know each other. We need to partner media institutions in Egypt. There is a lot of expertise there and in our discussions we found out that our media institutions we are talking about the six television entails that we commissioned we need content. We need to give people content that is relevant” she said.
Zimbabwe is optimistic of deriving value from Egypt’s expertise in media at a time when the country has licensed several television and radio stations.
