FIREWORKS are expected at Barbourfields stadium in Bulawayo this Sunday in what could be a season-defining battle between perennial rivals Dynamos and Highlanders.
The two giants of Zimbabwean football collide at Barbourfields Stadium on Sunday with Dynamos and Highlanders desperate for victory.
Victory for Dynamos will see them moving to within two points of current log leaders Highlanders, while for Bosso a win will ignite their title push after two successive defeats.
Former Highlanders players are confident Bosso will deny DeMbare victory having gone for five years without losing to Dynamos in a league encounter.
Nicknamed Signature because of his ball artistry and fancy footwork, former Highlanders playmaker, Johannes Ngodzo says the players should rise to the occasion and spice up the game for the twelfth man to enjoy.
“It is going to be an interesting clash. The two sides have a rivalry history which has been spanning for decades and whoever earns a starting place should justify their presence.”
A blunt strike force has been the major headache for Highlanders after going for 180 minutes without hitting the back of the net something which is worrying former strikers like Chipo Tsodzo and his crew.
“The boys have not been ticking so we hope they will match Dynamos who are doing well of late. Goals have not been coming for Bosso when Dynamos are scoring. Whoever will go for the kill will walk away with bragging rights,” said Tsodzo.
“It is going to be an interesting clash but I see Highlanders sailing through despite their current form,” said former Highlanders striker, Mkhokheli Dube.
“We hope both sets of players will represent their teams well because, at the end of the day, the supporters should enjoy the game,” said former Highlanders midfielder, Mtewa Masiku.
Meanwhile, a road show is on the cards as part of efforts to lure the twelfth man to Emagumeni for the epic encounter.
