THE Second Republic has been commended for its economic policies that have transformed the lives of the country’s citizens.
The church has welcomed the transformative economic policies of the Second Republic, whose vision is to see the country attain an upper-middle-income society by 2030.
The African Apostolic Church Passover gathering at Guvambwa Shrine in Chikomba this Saturday attended by Vice President General Retired Dr Constantino Chiwenga, provided an opportunity for the church to give feedback to the government on the impact of its economic policies on the ordinary citizen.
Church elder, Bishop Israel Mwazha also noted the importance of peace to the country’s development aspirations.
“Roads are there for all to see, clinics and other developments which also give us a good environment to worship. We also cherish the current peaceful environment, which is key to development,” he said.
Vice President General Retired Dr Constantino Chiwenga noted the importance of cooperation and collaboration between the government and the church in peacebuilding.
“We appreciate what you have done as a church to promote unity, peace and development and you worked with the party and government to uplift the standards of living of our people,” he said.
The African Apostolic Church led by Arch-Bishop Paul Mwazha is one of the oldest indigenous churches in Zimbabwe, having been formed in the 1940s.
