Chaos in Zimbabwe women’s super league as clubs revolt

THE Zimbabwe Women Super League clubs have passed a vote of no confidence on their executive board led by Ms Barbara Chikosi.
In a letter written this Saturday, the clubs cited several reasons for their lack of confidence, including financial mismanagement.
They expressed concern about the board’s failure to secure sponsorships and other funding for the league.
There are allegations the board has failed to properly market and promote the league.
Analysts believe that this has led to a lack of public interest in the league and a decline in attendance at matches while some clubs failed to fulfil the matches with others pulling out.
For many years, football administrators have red-flagged women’s football exposing gross mismanagement that has resulted to top-flight league games being played under substandard conditions.
Last month, the Zimbabwe Football Association Normalization Committee dissolved the Zimbabwe Women Super League executive committee.
