FOOTBALL fans are expecting fireworks when the highly anticipated Harare derby featuring arch rivals CAPS United and Dynamos takes centre stage at Rufaro Stadium on Sunday.

For the first time since 2019, Rufaro Stadium, the ceremonial home of football will host the much-awaited match between Makepekepe and DeMbare, and fans are looking forward to the battle of supremacy.

“As Dynamos fans we are ready for the match and DeMbare will win,” said one of the fans.

Another added, “Kepekepe Bhora! Dynamos should watch out, the victory is ours.”

Makepekepe are currently sixth on the PSL table with 16 points, while Dynamos are sitting on 10th position with 12 points.

The Green Machine have in recent times found the going tough against their city rivals after losing their two league encounters to Dynamos last season without scoring a goal.

2022 was no better as CAPS United lost three-nil in the first league encounter before a one-all draw in the reverse fixture.

Meanwhile, television screens will be installed at Rufaro stadium for football fans to watch the English Premier League finale soon after the game.

Harare Mayor, Councillor Jacob Mafume said, “We want to have a huge crowd ahead of the Harare derby, soon after the match we are going to put screen televisions that will show the EPL final games.”

All is set for the big match at Rufaro Stadium – will the Green Machine win the bragging rights or it will be the Glamour Boys? Who will go home smiling.?
