FOUR men have appeared in court in Beitbridge facing charges of raping a 13-year old juvenile.
The girl from Beitbridge West is alleged to have been raped by nine men on different occasions, with four of them having been charged and remanded in custody by a regional magistrate.
It is the State’s case that the four, who include George Nari aged 70, Don Mulauzi aged 40, 50-year-old Samuel Tlou and Obert Sibanda aged 28 of Zezani area in Beitbridge West, sexually pounced on the 13-year-old juvenile on separate occasions from September 2022 to January this year.
Prosecuting for the State, Mr Claudius Karinga outlined that the rape cases are isolated and occurred at various locations with some of the perpetrators claiming that the child’s mother had offered the girl as debt payment.
The quartet, which is denying the charges, will be back in court on the 9th of this month.
