Story by Providence Maraneli

Police in the Mpoengs area of Matabeleland South Province have launched a manhunt for a murder suspect who allegedly killed his gambling colleague.

The act has left the Mabuledi community in the Mpoengs area of Matabeleland South province shell-shocked, as 35-year-old Elesias Siziba allegedly killed his gambling compatriot in cold blood over a 200 Rand debt this weekend.

It is alleged the accused borrowed 200 Rand from the now deceased and used it for gambling.

Further allegations are that after his colleague made rich pickings the now deceased asked for his money, but the accused drew a knife and stabbed his compatriot, who died on the spot.

The accused who is believed to be from the Tshongogwe area in Tsholotsho is said to have disappeared under the cover of darkness.

Matabeleland South Acting Police Spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Thandolwenkosi Moyo confirmed the incident, urging youths to desist from engaging in illegal and dangerous activities.
