An 18-year-old man from Waterfalls, Harare is facing rape charges after he allegedly sexually abused his 10-year-old sister.
The man (whose name has been withheld to protect the identity of the victim) was arraigned before a Harare magistrate this Friday on rape charges dating back to the time when the girl was seven years old.
He was not asked to plead when he made his initial appearance in court and was remanded in custody pending trial.
It is alleged he would rape his sister whenever they were alone at home.
The matter came to light when the girl narrated her ordeal to their mother who then filed a report with the police.
