A 25-year-old man who lured his churchmate to his house under the pretext of bible study before allegedly sexually abusing her has appeared in court facing charges of rape.
Blind trust in a brother-in-Christ proved to be costly for a 22-year-old woman who was allegedly raped after being invited to a bible study.
Blessing Nyakwava appeared in court on allegations of raping his church mate once.
It is alleged that he invited the woman over to his house for bible study but ended up taking advantage of the unassuming woman.
The court heard that the abused woman reported the matter to the police leading to the arrest of the accused person.
Meanwhile, in another case, a 16-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her 26-year-old boyfriend after visiting him at his house.
It is alleged that Kudakwashe Kwenje raped the teenager several times on different days.
The court heard that the accused would invite the girl to his house where he would rape her.
Kwenje was facing six counts of rape and one count of attempted rape when he appeared in court.
He was however remanded out of custody.
