ORGANIZERS of the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) are upbeat about this year’s edition of the trade showcase after strong interest from new international exhibitors.
The international business extravaganza brings hundreds of exhibitors to seek and harness business opportunities and this year’s edition is expected to be oversubscribed after renewed interest from British and American exhibitors.
ZITF Company Chief Executive Officer Dr Nick Ndebele said, ‘‘What is exciting is the coming back of several exhibitors from the US and UK who had vanished over the years. This highlights the abundance of opportunities that are cropping up in the economy. So far over 400 exhibitors have booked.’’
With the disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic which resulted in the suspension the 2020 and 2021 editions, the ZITF expects business to shoot over the roof as economic opportunities continue to be availed in the country.
Dr Ndebele added, ‘‘Remember that there were three consecutive years of disruptions caused by COVID-19 and this is the first time in four years to host the exhibitions without any limitations. We are quite optimistic that there will increased business and activity this year.’’
This year’s edition of the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair will be staged from the 25th to the 29th of April under the theme “Transformative Innovation, Global Competitiveness”
