ZIMBABWE is targeting brands that match global standards to broaden markets for local companies.
Chartered Marketers held their 2024 first meeting on Friday evening to assess targets and formulate resolutions towards broadening markers for different sectors of the economy.
Association president Mr Shame Hokonya spoke on the importance of improved local brands that can compete with external goods.
“This is a global village that needs to focus on trends that are happening within the context of fast-changing production models. Therefore, brands become a vital cog in facilitating customer loyalty and further enhancing the ability of a product or service to be accepted either locally and externally therefore, this is one of our key priorities for this year, that is focusing on good brands.”
Khaya Cement Chief Executive Officer, Mr Innocent Chikwata says Brand Zimbabwe must be tailored around marketing the country as a safe and viable portfolio for businesses.
“The Brand Zimbabwe concept becomes imperative in as much as facilitating the good image of the country is concerned, it is within that perspective where Zimbabwe has to further come up with workable policies geared at positing the country in a good image. Our association is therefore ready to work with the government on that aspect.”
The Chartered Marketers also focused on modalities to fine-tune strategies in line with the digital platforms.
