CELEBRATED South African gospel music outfit Spirit of Praise is set to make its maiden performance in Zimbabwe at Hippodrome Harare on the 24th of this month.

The Benjamin Dube-led ensemble, Spirit of Praise, which has been touring regionally, is set to bring its latest album titled ‘Spirit of Praise 9′ on its debut Zimbabwean tour.

Local multi-award-winning gospel artiste Everton Mlalazi, who has performed at various events in South Africa and recorded with several artistes in that country, will share the stage with the star-studded ensemble at the concert.

Mlalazi said, “Im so excited, Spirit of Praise is coming to Zimbabwe for the first time and it’s an honour to be sharing the stage with Spirit of Praise on their Zimbabwean tour. We have had Benajimin Dube and Canaan Nyathi coming as individuals but now they are coming as a group. We will see the likes Benjamin Dube, Canaan Nyathi, Takie Ndou, Ayanda Ntanzi and Sindi Ntombela performing on stage.”

“This time around they will be performing in the country as a group for the first time. It’s going to be an amazing experience because the choir is known for its vocal ability and excellence. Music is a universal language and it unites. I also have been to South Africa where I have performed at various platforms, and the response has been amazing. They request that I sing my music in Shona which shows music is a universal language. The regional nominations and awards are also an amazing feat which shows that our music is also being appreciated down south,” he added.

Spirit of Praise is famed for songs which include ‘Nasempini’, ‘Bina Moya Waka’, ‘Make a Way’, ‘Hlala Kimi Jesu’ and “Moy’ Oyingncwele”.
