ZIMBABWEAN gospel musicians have joined hands for a gospel movement dubbed Ebenezer Gospel Choir which includes Reverend Toggy Chivaviro and Baba Mechanic Manyeruke.

The concept, which is a brain child of England based musician and gospel music promoter, Timothy Ngwenya has seen the birth of a 60- member gospel choir comprising renowned and budding Zimbabwean gospel musicians based in different countries across the world.

“It is like a calling I have. I like promoting gospel music that is how I ended up starting a program dubbed Ebenezer gospel promotions and have since invited people like Kudzi Nyakudya, Mercy Mutsvene and Olinda Marowa to England.

“We said lets come together and do a choir that can be able to help soloist grow with the help of renowned gospel musicians. So we came together as artists and it comprises of a lot of gospel musicians that you have heard and may not have heard. My inspiration comes from the word unity and love and I believe that as a family we can impart that message into a community,” said Ngwenya.

The choir will be unveiled in Zimbabwe for the first time on the 22nd of next month featuring renowned musicians like Baba Mechanic Manyeruke, Sipho Makhabane and Rev Toggy Chivaviro, among others.

The choir is set to tour the world for various concerts dubbed ‘all about gospel’.
