The local arts industry has been plunged into mourning following the death of veteran actor, filmmaker and scriptwriter Watson Chidzomba.
His son, Watson Junior confirmed the death to the ZBC News saying his father died at a hospital in Norton this Thursday afternoon where he was being treated for a suspected ulcer.
Chidzomba is famed for his 90s film ‘I Need a Child’, and some of the then-ZTV drama series including ‘Nzungu Muriva’ ‘Zviri Mudendere’ and ‘Paraffini’.
Owing to his penchant for the arts industry, the late artiste also worked with the late music superstar Dr Oliver Mtukudzi at Pakare Paye Arts Centre.
Funeral arrangements will be announced in due course.
