Roscongress Foundation’s Innovation Space to Present Advanced Solutions for Africa

THE Roscongress Foundation’s Innovation Space will be open on 27–28 July 2023 at the Russia–Africa Economic and Humanitarian Forum. The project is a unique platform that is used to present the latest technologies and discuss trends in innovation and digital transformation with leading experts.

The Innovation Space will be held in three formats: a Lecture Hall, an IT cluster, as well as universities and an exhibition of innovative companies.
At the Innovation Space’s Lecture Hall, CEOs of major companies, representatives of the authorities, and experts will speak about trends in the digitalization of the economy.

The discussion will cover a wide range of topics: from the digital transformation of the Federal Tax Service to the logistics of grain exports (the latter session will be held with the support of Technotrans Group, which is building a marine grain terminal on the coast of the Baltic Sea in the Leningrad Region’s Vyborgsky District).

One of the sessions will be devoted to the transferring of competencies and exchange of experience in the digitalization of e-governance. The participants will discuss the prospects and mechanisms for enhancing bilateral cooperation between Russia and Africa in such matters. In particular, the Higher School of Economics and the company Innopraktika will present the Knowledge Exchange Programme about the digitalization of public administration.

Another cross-cutting theme of the Lecture Hall will be cybersecurity. It is no secret that cyber threats are becoming more common on the African continent, and many countries and businesses are not properly prepared for them. For its part, Russia has world-class expertise on such matters without exaggeration. Such recognized industry leaders as Positive Technologies, Doctor Web, Zecurion, and Security Code, which are partners of the Roscongress Foundation’s Innovation Space, will share their expertise with Forum participants.

The IT cluster will offer participants a firsthand view of the products and services of these and other well-known Russian IT companies whose solutions are pertinent for African countries. Many of them are already actively being used in Africa.

The Innovation Space’s exhibition will showcase the scientific and technological potential of Russian universities and startups, including Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University, St. Petersburg State Electrotechnical University, Armastek Scientific and Production Company, Proteus Scientific and Technical Centre, and Aquagenica.
