ZIMBABWE have retained the core of the squad that reached the Super Eight at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup for this month’s three-match T20 International series against Bangladesh.

Zimbabwe Cricket has kept faith with the squad that enjoyed a historic ICC Men’s T20 World Cup campaign, naming a 15-man squad for the three-match T20 International series against Bangladesh.

The only additions to the World Cup squad are exciting young fast bowler Newman Nyamhuri, who is in line for his T20I debut, and batter Milton Shumba, who returns to the national set-up for the first time since the 2022 T20 World Cup.

Experienced all-rounder Sikandar Raza continues to captain the side after leading Zimbabwe to an unforgettable World Cup campaign that saw the Chevrons top their first-round group unbeaten, including famous victories over Australia and Sri Lanka before reaching the Super Eight.

Ben Curran also retains his place after being drafted into the World Cup squad as an injury replacement and could make his T20I debut alongside Nyamhuri during the series.

Zimbabwe will, however, be without Graeme Cremer, who has been ruled out with a fractured left arm, while Brendan Taylor and Tony Munyonga also miss out.

The three-match T20 International series will be played at Queens Sports Club on July 15, 17 and 19 with Zimbabwe aiming to build on their outstanding World Cup performance.
