HIGHLANDERS Football Club have suspended Chief Executive Officer Denzil Mnkandla for a second time, barely three months after lifting his initial suspension.
Mnkandla, who was first suspended in April before being reinstated, was served with a fresh suspension letter on Monday.
He is facing allegations of inflating accommodation and camping costs incurred during the club’s recent pre-season tour of Botswana.
Highlanders committee member Kindman Ndlovu confirmed the suspension, saying further details would be provided by club chairperson Kenneth Mhlophe.
The latest development comes days after Mnkandla wrote to the club’s executive citing incapacitation.
The suspension also comes as Highlanders continue to grapple with financial challenges, with players reportedly owed salaries and winning bonuses, while head coach Benjani Mwaruwari is also said to be owed six months’ salary.
