PRESIDENT Dr Emmerson Mnangagwa says the launch of the Citizens Engagement and Scoring Platform marks a significant step towards modernising governance systems and strengthening accountability in public service delivery.
Officially launching the initiative in Harare on Thursday, President Mnangagwa reminded local authorities that citizens must remain at the centre of governance, stressing that quality service delivery should be a priority.
The platform will allow citizens to provide feedback on services delivered by local authorities across sectors such as waste management, housing, drainage and street lighting.
President Mnangagwa said the initiative empowers citizens to participate more actively in governance while ensuring that their concerns are heard and addressed.
He urged members of the public to use the platform constructively, saying meaningful feedback can help drive innovation, improve service delivery and enhance accountability among public office bearers.
The President said citizens should be assured that their voices matter and play an important role in shaping responsive and effective local governance systems.
The Citizens Engagement and Scoring Platform is expected to strengthen interaction between communities and local authorities while promoting transparency, efficiency and people-centred development.
