YOUTHS in Harare have expressed support for the Constitutional Amendment No. 3 Bill, saying the proposed reforms could enhance investor confidence and create a more stable environment for economic growth.
Their endorsement comes as Parliament continues debating the Bill, which has attracted significant interest from various sectors of society.
Some young people argued that political stability and policy continuity are critical for attracting investment and sustaining development programmes.
“Investors will have confidence in the country, quite aware that they will not be disturbed by electoral cycles,” said Bhekumuzi Mhlanga.
Tause Muzhingi said young people have benefited from government empowerment programmes and believe continuity would help sustain such initiatives.
“As youth, we have witnessed massive programmes which we are benefiting from, hence the need for the President to continue and empower youths who are the future leaders,” he said.
Harare Ward 7 Councillor Tarusenga Mushininga also voiced support for the Bill, saying continuity is important for maintaining development momentum.
“Continuity is crucial because the momentum has already been set, so we are of the view that the President must continue,” he said.
Debate on Constitutional Amendment No. 3 Bill is continuing in the National Assembly and is expected to be followed by a vote before the proposed legislation is transmitted to the Senate for further consideration.
