FORMER champions Chicken Inn are leaving nothing to chance in their upcoming Castle Lager Premier Soccer League encounter against log leaders Scottland set for Barbourfields Stadium this Friday.
The reverse fixture was abandoned resulting in the Premier Soccer League disciplinary committee awarding the game to debutants Scottland.
Away from the fixture, the two sides renew their rivalry at Barbourfields stadium this Friday.
The stakes are high for the match as the Gamecocks are still battling for survival, while Scottland are challenging for honours in their debut season.
Chicken Inn players are focused on collecting maximum points to move to safety.
“We want three points, seeing we are at home. we need to be safe. A win will be a confidence booster ahead of the remaining games,” Chicken Inn captain, Xolani Ndlovu said.
“We are prepared to give it our all, we need the three points. We will ride on home advantage,” Chicken Inn forward, George Majika added.
Head coach Joey Antipas has called for caution.
“Scottland are a big club with quality players. They have done so much for our local game. I will surely tip them to win this league. We are playing on Friday, but we will give it our best to beat the log leaders.”
The Gamecocks find themselves in unfamiliar territory, in the relegation zone, after blowing hot and cold in a season they would quickly want to forget.
Saturday action will see TelOne host relegated Kwekwe United at Ascot, MWOS face Green Fuel at Ngoni as Manica Diamonds entertain Triangle at Sakubva.
Defending champions Simba Bhora play CAPS United at Wadzanayi as Dynamos take their survival antic to a home clash with Ngezi Platinum Stars.
ZPC Kariba date Bikita Minerals as FC Platinum face Yadah at Mandava.
