THE Zimbabwe Republic Police has launched a manhunt for murder suspect, Pius Jamba, who is alleged to have killed his girlfriend, Moreblessing Ali and dumped her mutilated body in a well at Denota Farm in Beatrice on Saturday.
Ali’s mutilated body was found in a well on Saturday after she went missing last month.
Preliminary Investigations reveal that Ali was last seen in the company of her alleged boyfriend, Pius Jamba who is the chief suspect in the case.
In a statement released by the Zimbabwe Republic Police on Sunday, Ali was seen drinking beer at Chibhanguza Shopping Centre in Chitungwiza with Kirina Mariyoni where they were approached by Jamba.
Jamba is alleged to have assaulted Mariyoni with a catapult before he sought refuge in a beer hall, leaving the now deceased in the company of the chief suspect.
Ali’s death comes as the country has witnessed a surge in murder cases and other crimes of passion.
Meanwhile, scores of people have converged for the funeral in Chitungwiza.
Last week, a Harare man, Gilbert Mazarire of Manresa appeared at the Harare magistrates courts facing murder charges after he allegedly stabbed his girlfriend on the stomach, accusing her of seeing another man.
