THE Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Services (ZPCS) has come to the rescue of Wedza Primary School through its community assistance programme.
With the cost of engaging private building contractors beyond the reach of most public institutions, the ZPCS constructed a classroom block at Wedza Primary School.
The classroom block, whose construction started in April 2021, was handed over to the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education this Wednesday.
“As a school we did not have the funds to build this block so we thank ZPCS for coming in,” Mr Trust Nhira, Wedza Primary SDC chair said.
“We are happy with the quality of work done here which is of high standard,” said Mr Lovemore Mukombe, Councillor Wedza Centre.
The partnership has been hailed for its role in infrastructural development.
“Such projects play a key role in the development of our country to improve our peoples’ lives,” said the Minister of Justice, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs, Honourable Ziyambi Ziyambi.
“We are happy with projects being undertaken by the ZPCS in our province,” said Senator Aplonia Munzverengwi, Mashonaland East Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution.
“As Wedza North, this is a very welcome development in terms of infrastructural development,” Wedza North Legislator, Honourable David Musabayana noted.
The ZPCS is also engaged in other projects, which include construction of staff quarters at Machekera Secondary School, Mushipe Primary School and Boni Clinic.
