ZITF: Diplomats forum to facilitate foreign investment

By Yolanda Moyo
THE Zimbabwe International Trade Fair will this year host the Zimbabwe Diplomats Forum to engage foreign envoys on the government’s measures to facilitate investment.
In line with government’s thrust of engagement and re-engagement, the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair will this year offer a new platform for tripartite discussions involving the Zimbabwean government, diplomats based in the country and business players.
“So, this is a new event that previously wasn’t there but in the interest of re-engagement, re-collection, we are going to have this event where we discuss and engage. This is in line with the thrust of the National Development Strategy and Vision 2030, which enunciated a desire for re-engagement and economic diplomacy. Our exhibitors want to sell and export their wares globally and we have offered this platform to enable them to engage with the diplomats. The function also aims at engaging locally-based foreign diplomats on the ongoing measures by the government to facilitate investment,” explained Dr Nicholas Ndebele the ZITF Chief Executyive Officer.
The forum will be held on the 23rd of September in conjunction with the Zimbabwe Investment Development Agency (ZIDA) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade.
