ZIMTRADE is focusing on establishing trade opportunities in South Africa’s Limpopo Province in line with its strategy to continue growing the country’s exports.

The trade promotion body will continue from where it left off last year and has broad plans to spur exports this year, starting with the Limpopo Survey Dissemination Seminar that will unleash trade opportunities in the South African province.

ZimTrade Exports Promotion Manager, Vuyiswa Mafu said: “We launched a survey to find out opportunities in South Africa’s Limpopo Province because of its proximity. We are launching the results soon so that we capitalise on the opportunities that may exist in the province.”

ZimTrade will also grace Expo 2020 Dubai next month to further showcase Zimbabwe’s trade opportunities at the grand trade extravaganza.

“We are carrying over 25 companies to Dubai for the Expo and this will offer them the chance of trade exposure with global businesses,” said Mafundikwa.

Upcoming hosts of the Fifa World Cup Qatar are also within Zimtrade’s sight as it seeks to establish trade linkages in the Middle East, with government pursuing its 10 percent target of annual export growth as enshrined in the National Development Strategy One.
