PREPARATIONS for the 2022 Population and Housing Census set to be held this month are progressing well, with the Zimbabwe National Statistics Agency (ZIMSTAT) embarking on roadshows to sensitise the public on the exercise.
Training of level-three enumerators for the 2022 Population and Housing Census is also expected to begin soon.
People who spoke to the ZBC News crew this Friday showed they have a clear understanding of the national programme, which will be conducted from April 21 to April 30.
ZIMSTAT public relations manager Mercy Chideme said training of trainers has been completed, while recruitment of about 41 000 enumerators is underway.
“Training of level-one trainers has been done and on the 7th, it will be training of level-two trainers. We are looking at about 41 000 enumerators. We have had an overwhelming response from our road shows and so far, we have covered seven districts with regards to our road shows,” said Chideme.
The country last conducted a census exercise in 2012.
