Government has endorsed the revenue collection roadmap through the appointment of a substantive Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (ZIMRA) Commissioner General.
A ZIMRA board meeting was held this Thursday where it emerged that government had approved the appointment of Ms Regina Chinamasa as ZIMRA Commissioner General.
The board chairman, Mr Anthony Mandiwanza expressed confidence in the newly appointed Commissioner General to deliver on the ZIMRA mandate.
“As a board, we are confident of her new responsibility and we hope she will steer our vision and mandate on behalf of the government,” he said.
Ms Chinamasa pledged to serve the interests of the shareholder.
She noted, “A lot will be done to transform the authority taking into account the need to improve revenue collections.”
Despite various challenges, the authority continues to mobilise more revenue for development projects on behalf of government.
