Zimbabwe’s vaccination drive has been welcomed by the private sector with industrialists saying it will facilitate the full resumption of economic activities.

The Confederation of Zimbabwe Industries revealed in a latest report that its members have already embarked on an intensive vaccination drive for workers.

The industrial body’s President Mr Henry Ruzvidzo outlined the importance of the programme to companies.

“The damages brought about by the pandemic across the world needs to be contained through the current vaccination programme that has a net effect in ensuring business recovery and growth,” said Ruzvidzo.

Employers Confederation of Zimbabwe President Dr Israel Murefu spoke on how firms are embracing the programme.

“The importance of vaccination to the employers and overall productivity trends in the economy is very huge because it guarantees confidence,” he said.

The roll out of the vaccination programme in Zimbabwe has also been described by industrialists as key to overall economic growth.
