The Zimbabwe XI cricket side succumbed to a 4-1 series defeat by South Africa A after a 92-run defeat in their last T20 encounter at Harare Sports Club this Tuesday.
The hosts were hoping to end the series on a high note following a consolation 62-run victory in the fourth T20 encounter.
It was however not to be as the visiting South Africa A side which had already sealed the tourney with an impressive 3-1 win won the fifth match.
South Africa A won the toss and chose to bat first with the visitors amassing 212 runs in their allotted 20 overs for the loss of just 2 wickets.
The hosts’ chase started on a poor note as they lost 7 wickets with just 84 runs on the board in 15 overs.
Zimbabwe XI eventually lost the encounter by 92 runs after labouring to 129 for 9 in their allotted 20 overs.
Zimbabwe will now prepare to host Namibia in Bulawayo next month before they entertain tough opponents Afghanistan in a three match ODI series.
