SPORTS codes are ready for the Sports Tourism Festival set to kick off in Victoria Falls this Friday.
All is set for the sports festival, with stakeholders ready for the inaugural event which is expected to demystify and promote the local sport.
Sports tourism founder and events coordinator Malvin Kanjere says they are ready for the big event.
“We are at an advanced stage, we have secured the venue, we are in communication with different sporting associations as well as different sports coordinators.”
Golf, tennis, marathon, mountain biking and aerobics are the main sporting disciplines taking place at the inaugural festival in the resort city.
The festival seeks to create an understanding of local games, raising awareness in sport-starved towns, while also promoting sports tourism and business development in marginalised communities.
It also aims to spread sporting activities to areas previous left behind and build up sporting disciplines to be competitive.
Only fully vaccinated individuals will be accommodated under Covid-19 protocols.
