10 CASES tested positive for COVID-19 this Wednesday, 17 June 2020, bringing the total to 401 confirmed cases in the country. The cases are all returnees from South Africa and are all under isolation.
To date 60 585 RDT and PCR tests have been conducted in the country. Of the 401 confirmed cases, 63 have since recovered while 334 are still active. Four deaths have been recorded in the country as a result of Covid-19.
Harare remains at the top of recorded cases with 156 cases followed by Masvingo 50. Matabeleland South has 46, Mashonaland East 36, Midlands 32, Bulawayo 26, Mashonaland West 22, Manicaland 18, Mashonaland Central 8 and Matabeleland North has seven cases.
The Ministry of Health and Child Care continues to encourage people to wear masks in public and practice social distancing.
However, masks should not be worn while exercising as they may reduce oxygen intake and may compromise the exerciser’s health.
