Zimbabwe Economic Development Conference set for Victoria Falls next week

The City of Victoria Falls will next week host local and international policy makers for a three a day government led interface to deliberate on issues that seek to harness Zimbabwe’s economic transformation agenda.

The Ministry of Finance and Economic Development will lead a delegation of government policy makers for the Zimbabwe Economic Development Conference in Victoria Falls where captains of industry and international experts will meet to formulate policies meant to further transform the country’s economy.

“The conference is the first of its kind and seeks to bring together all captains of industry, policy makers and international partners to find ways of accelerating the economic transformation agenda of Government and to strengthen our capacity to achieve that,” said Finance and Economic Development Minister, Professor Mthuli Ncube.

President Emmerson Mnangagwa is expected to officially launch the three-day conference whose outcomes will further harness Zimbabwe’s economic transformation agenda.

Added Professor Ncube, “The key takeaways will be used to formulate policies that seeks to further grow the economy.”

The conference is running under the theme: Accelerating Economic Transformation through Evidence Based Policy Making and will include presentations on monetary and foreign exchange rate policy, fiscal reforms, industrialisation and trade policy as well as informal sector and poverty reduction.
